Damen delivers first CF 3850 vessel
Damen Shipyards has delivered the first of three combi freighters (CF) 3850 to Reederei M. Lauterjung at Vietnam’s Ba Son Shipyard. The vessel, named “MV Arion”, will operate under the charter name “Amadeus Pearl” after reaching Europe.
This delivery marks Damen’s first collaboration with Ba Son Shipyard and Reederei M. Lauterjung, as well as the first vessel in a larger series of CF 3850 vessels. Following the delivery, a contract was signed for a fourth CF 3850, which will be constructed at Damen Yichang Shipyard in China and feature a 30% fuel efficiency improvement and hybrid-ready capabilities.
