Daily trains from China to Hamburg
UTLC ERA, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, and Belintertrans Germany, are launching a joint end-to-end regular multimodal service from Altynkol, on the border with China, to Kaliningrad (Russia) and Hamburg (Germany). The new service will provide competitive and reliable container transport by rail and water.
The first two pilot shipments to test parts of the service took place in August and September. Their transit time from Chongqing to Hamburg came to 12 and 14 days. From October onwards the service will operate on a regular basis.
During the launch phase of the route the partners, the United Transport and Logistics Company – Eurasian Rail Alliance and Belintertrans Germany, are planning to dispatch one or two trains a day to Hamburg. (ben)
