Daily non-stop service to North Sea

In Germany, the Albatros Express now provides daily services between Passau in Lower Bavaria and the North Sea ports. Hub and pivot of this new offer is the bayernhafen terminal in Passau. From the north, the trains carry mainly containers with automotive parts and other commercial commodities to Lower Bavaria.

In the other direction, shippers from the local business community use this service to send their products (from the automotive, regenerative technology and agricultural sectors, amongst others) north for export overseas. Besides intermodal transports, the partners DB Cargo, TFG Transfracht und bayernhafen provide single wagonload traffic as an additional service.

The project was developed following an initiative launched by the transport committee of the Chamber of Commerce of Lower Bavaria. (ben)
