Dachser to build hub in northern Germany
The logistics services provider Dachser intends to build a new subsidiary in Neumünster between Hamburg and Kiel in Germany. The facility will contain a cargo handling terminal for industrial goods and foodstuffs. About EUR 17.4 million will be invested in the project, which is planned to be completed by Q3/2020. Around 30 employees will then be working in the new logistics centre.
“Neumünster will become a further important hub for Dachser in the north of Germany. The new location will be directly linked up with our comprehensive network of overland transport services throughout Europe,” says Alexander Tonn, managing director European Logistics Germany.
Construction work on the 57,000 sqm real estate will start at the beginning of September. The hall’s ground area will cover about 6,700 sqm, of which 5,000 sqm will be used for industrial goods. Foodstuffs will be handled in a separate, cooled 1,700 sqm facility. The transshipment hall will have a total of 76 gates for loading and unloading trucks. A further 1,000 sqm will be used for office space. (mw)
