Dachser boosts food logistics
With the acquisition of Brummer Logistik, Dachser is strengthening its presence in Austria’s food logistics market. The takeover includes the entire operating business of the Brummer Group, which was founded in 1977 and generated a turnover of EUR 128 million in 2023.
Brummer’s owners have now decided to shift the group's focus to logistics real estate and hand over the logistics operations to Dachser.
As a result of the transaction, Dachser will gain access to various deep-freeze facilities and additional warehouse space in Austria close to the German border, which can be used as efficient distribution hubs for goods deliveries in Europe.
Brummer employs 950 people in its core markets in Southern Germany and Austria. "Together with our recent acquisitions of Müller Fresh Food Logistics in the Netherlands and Frigoscandia in Northern Europe, we are underpinning our position as one of Europe's major food logistics providers," says Burkhard Eling, CEO of Dachser.
