DACH: high priority for sustainable fleets
85% of transport companies in the DACH countries Germany, Austria, Switzerland renewed their fleets last year in order to make their services more sustainable.
67% of the providers introduced telematics-based solutions, as the latest Goodyear Sustainable Reality Survey reports. 106 companies with their own fleets participated in the survey. 84% of the companies that operate their own fleets said that sustainability was a high priority.
For 54% of the companies, sustainable fleets have a corporate value that also enhances their public image. Nearly 58% have defined sustainability goals, and another 28% plan to do so within the next twelve months.
According to the report, 81% of fleet owners are "somewhat familiar" or "familiar" with the environmental legislation applicable to the transport industry, with a further 6% even "very familiar".
The companies surveyed said that more cost-effective and less complex solutions would lead to the development and introduction of even more sustainable operational solutions. For 73%, financial incentives are crucial to further improve the sustainability of operations, the report adds. (ben)
