Cut carbon emissions with ‘Sea Alternative’
Bolloré Logistics has introduced 'Sea Alternative,' a solution aimed at reducing ocean shipping's carbon footprint through the use of biofuel, aligning with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations that target a 70% reduction in ocean freight CO2 emissions by 2050 compared to 2008 levels.
Available in various trade lanes and carriers, 'Sea Alternative' ensures a verified process, providing quarterly carbon savings reports and annual third-party audits.
It's part of Bolloré Logistics' 'powering sustainable logistics' CSR programme launched in 2018, aimed at integrating sustainability into supply chain management. The company has set a target to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from downstream transport and distribution by 22% by 2030. (pb)
