Customs infractions even at smaller US airport
During the month of October, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Rochester Airport (ROC) port of entry targeted multiple shipments that totalled 193 seizures of items that were intellectual property rights (IPR), food and drug administration (FDA) violations and drug paraphernalia. These items had a total manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) value of USD 1.85 million.
Ronald Menz, CBP port director of the airport which is located in the state of New York and handled 52,185 t of cargo in 2019: "CBP has a vital role in protecting not only the consumer but also businesses from imported fraudulent items. Our officers continue to do an amazing job targeting shipments and identifying these violations." (ah)
