CST makes progress in Basel
Following the entry into force of the "Underground Freight Transport Act", Cargo Sous Terrain (CST) has now adapted its corporate structure to prepare the realisation of CST.
With a lean board of directors, secured financing and an expanded implementation team, CST is well positioned for the upcoming phase which entails obtaining construction permits over the next few years.
The aim is to begin the formal planning procedures to receive approval for the first Härkingen-Zurich section and ten hubs from the Swiss federal government, cantons and municipalities.
At the general meeting, which took place at CST’s headquarters in Basel, city mayor Beat Jans and the CST managers signed a joint declaration that includes close cooperation in city logistics, site development and the planned infrastructure to connect the city and the Rhine harbour to the CST network.
