Cosco’s blockchain e-bill hits 100k
Cosco Shipping has issued its 100,000th blockchain-based electronic bill of lading to a Shenzhen-based e-commerce customer, marking a significant milestone in digital trade facilitation. This achievement reflects Cosco's commitment to digital innovation, having served over 7,500 customers with this secure and efficient technology.
The Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN) platform plays a crucial role in integrating industry stakeholders, promoting trust and efficiency through digital solutions. GSBN's success was recently recognised with the Digital Trade Gold Award at the Second Global Digital Trade Expo.
Initiated by Cosco Shipping Lines in 2018, GSBN has grown to include around 30 members from various sectors, including airlines, ports, and finance. Cosco's blockchain-based solutions have notably reduced import cargo release times significantly, showcasing the practical benefits of digital transformation in shipping and trade. (pb)
