Cosco extends inland service
In response to rising demand from e-commerce and manufacturing customers, the Chinese shipping giant recently launched a cross-border transport service between the USA and Mexico. As part of this initiative, Cosco’s trucking subsidiary IBT has deployed a fleet of trailers in Laredo, TX (USA).
The newly introduced 53-foot trailers are engineered specifically for cross-border operations, offering more loading capacity and featuring an "air cushion" design to protect cargo from damage. The fleet is also equipped with an advanced global positioning system (GPS).
The new USA-Mexico cross-border service can reach the main Mexican factory cities and deliver throughout the USA and Canada, Cosco said. (ben)
