Converting Koreans choose Columbus
In partnership with global airfreight forwarders and Korean Air Cargo, Columbus Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK) recently became the world’s only airport serving Korean Air Cargo’s new fleet of cargo-converted passenger aircraft.
In these uncharted times, Korean Air Cargo has boldly initiated new nonstop cargo service between Seoul, Korea and Columbus, Ohio, USA. The passenger seats of two of Korean Air B777-300 were removed in order to allow more freight capacity.
Korean Air Cargo is currently running six weekly flights out of LCK. As the initial demand for PPE wanes, some cargo companies are beginning to see more traditional shipments such as auto parts and electronics. Korean Air Cargo’s diversity of customers compliments LDK’s retail and eCommerce fulfilment operations in Columbus. (ah)
