Contract logistics specialist expanding in Germany

As a long-term strategy, GXO is planning to significantly increase its activities in Germany, Europe's largest logistics market, in the coming years. In a first phase, GXO is investing in a new 36,000 sqm state-of-the-art warehouse in Dormagen in the Düsseldorf region.

Headed by Stefan van Hoof, the facility will be the starting point for GXO's market expansion in Central Europe. As managing director for Central Europe, van Hoof will report to Richard Cawston, president GXO Europe. Van Hoof joined GXO as part of the acquisition of Clipper 2022, where he was CEO for Continental Europe.

According to GXO, the German contract logistics market, which generates an annual turnover of about EUR 20 billion, shows promising prospects for growth.

German companies are continuing to upgrade their supply chains and increasingly outsourcing their operational processes to other countries. There is also a growing demand for outsourcing logistics services to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

GXO has been operating in 15 countries in Continental Europe for more than 25 years, serving clients in the e-commerce, fashion, FMCG and DIY sectors. (ben)
