Containerisation upgraded at Stockholm Norvik
Stockholm's Norvik port has acquired a new automated container loader, thus boosting its capacity to meet the needs of the Swedish export industry, particularly in the forestry and steel sectors.
The loader, which arrived from Latvia, improves and speeds up the processing of cargo, as it can fill 30 t into a container in just five minutes. Operated by Hutchison Ports, the new equipment strengthens the port’s infrastructure, helps manage the surplus of empty containers and makes freight handling more sustainable and cost-effective. (pb)
