Connection to the North of England
PD Ports and the Luxemburg-based logistics services provider CLDN have announced a new long-term cooperation for roll-on/roll-off cargo, such as cars, trucks, trailers and containers. It will bring four round trip sailings per week from Belgium and the Netherlands to Teesport (North of England): three ro-ro vessels will start from Zeebrugge and one from Rotterdam.
The first vessel is scheduled to arrive on 19 March 2023. The service is designed to improve Teesport’s international connections and to reduce CO2 emissions as well as road mileage.
PD Ports' CEO Frans Calje says that the company is "delighted to have been able to secure a contract of this nature" under Brexit conditions. The partnership is also expected to increase the CLDN network on a structural level. (lh)
