Connecting US drone know-how
VerdeGo Aero, an aerospace electric powertrain technology company based in Daytona Beach, FL, partners with Airflow from San Francisco, CA, an aerial logistics company building next-generation aircraft, to explore using the VerdeGo Aero hybrid-electric powertrain system in the Airflow eSTOL (electric Short Takeoff and Landing) aircraft, which reduces emissions and fuel burn by 35% compared to conventional turbine powertrains.
Last month, VerdeGo Aero and XTI Aircraft Company from Denver, CO partnered on the TriFan 200 programme, an unmanned autonomous aircraft capable of transporting 225 kg of cargo on missions of more than 370 km. It will enable express logistics companies to rapidly address "miles 1 to 20" when shipping urgent cargo by connecting global air cargo hubs with distribution points throughout major cities. (ah)
