Completing a project
Integrating Züst & Bachmeier Project into Gruber Logistics. Since the beginning of this year Züst & Bachmeier Project has operated under the name Gruber Logistics Project. This marks the final step of a process that began with the acquisition of Universal Transport in autumn 2022.
Züst & Bachmeier has specialised in project cargo activities since 1911, and has managed many complex transport operations worldwide since then. By combining different transport modes, it always ensures efficient logistics and the optimised use of infrastructure.
The brand synchronisation measures that were completed recently marked the overall conclusion of an integration process that was initiated in 2022.
Martin Gruber, the chief executive officer of Gruber Logistics, highlighted the strategic benefits of the measures recently. “Züst & Bachmeier’s professional expertise expands our perspectives and creates new growth opportunities in specialised logistics. With these integration measures we’ve strengthened our international network and now offer our customers even more comprehensive solutions.”
Tried-and-tested structures intact
Thus the customers of Gruber’s ‘Project Cargo Solutions’, the new brand name of the division, will continue to benefit from stable structures. In fact, the locations, contacts and processes all remain unchanged. The branches in Nuremberg and Düsseldorf will continue to be managed by Andreas Wöhler and Marcel Zare. Their experienced on-site teams will ensure smooth transport operations.
A key part of Gruber Logistics’ services is its multimodal transport approach. “We work in every transport mode and offer flexible solutions,” Wöhler explained.
One example comes from the terminal in the inland port of Nuremberg, which since November 2024 has facilitated the transport of 13 transformers, each weighing 197 t, via waterways to Krefeld.
The cargo was transferred onto specialised transporters there, for the final stretch to Meerbusch. Gruber Logistics deployed its own equipment for onward transportation and unloading in this project.
The seamless integration of different transport modes in this project ensures smooth and cost-efficient operations.
Boosting operational efficiency
The full integration of Züst & Bachmeier gives customers access to Gruber’s comprehensive service portfolio. This includes heavy and oversized transport solutions, full and partial loads, air and sea freight options, groupage services, project logistics and industrial assembly.
Zare emphasised that “our customers benefit from optimised transport solutions in all global logistics chains. Gruber’s resources enhance our operational efficiency and enable even more flexible solutions for complex project cargo operations. The close collaboration of our teams in various locations ensures smooth processes and the highest quality standards.”
