Combining sweets and sustainability
Mars is working with three logistics providers in Germany to enhance its transport data and better track its CO2 emissions. In this new project, the manufacturer is partnering with Rigterink Logistikgruppe, Shippeo and Elain to improve information on its scope 3 emissions generated by domestic transport in Germany.
Furthermore, the companies will look to analyse and identify other potential steps to advance decarbonisation. Mars aims to attain net zero by 2050 and cut GHG emissions from its supply chain by half until 2030.
Leveraging Shippeo’s real-time data, and Rigterink’s primary fleet data, Elain’s platform can offer precise calculations. Mars can use this data to increase transparency for its transports, partially or fully loaded. This will enable the company to upgrade its operations in Germany and stay in line with its sustainability targets.
