Colombian cargo carrier to take off today
Panamericana Airlines, a Colombian airfreight operator founded and headed by German businessman Thomas Friese, is set to begin operations today, 17 August, in Barranquilla, the capital city of Colombia's Atlántico Department on the Caribbean Sea.
Ronald Peña, growth manager of the specialised cargo transport airline, said that it will offer international services from its home base to Miami FL (USA) and Caracas (Venezuela). Friese brings his experience and a European approach to the development of the company, which "guarantees personalised services for its clients as well as job stability for its employees."
The airline operates a fleet of nine wet-leased aircraft, including six Boeing B747-400Fs, with which it can serve routes to Europe and Asia, and other long-range intra-continental, national and regional routes. (ah)
