Cologne logistics group stable
The logistics group Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln (HGK) reports that its annual results for 2020 remained on the same level as in 2019 (EUR 10.3 million). Sales amounted to EUR 71.2 million, compared to EUR 75.4 million in the previous year.
The impact of the Covid-19 downturn was smaller than appeared at first glance. HGK’s higher turnover in the previous year was mainly due to one-off effects in the real estate sector. The Covid-19 effects are more evident in the performance of HGK's logistics holdings, however.
HGK’s logistics and intermodal division (the Neska Group) transported and handled almost 1 million t less (7.18 million t in 2019, down to 6.25 million t in 2020). The figures for the 100% subsidiary HTAG; for Rhein-Cargo, a joint venture with Neuss Düsseldorfer Häfen; and for the seven ports of RheinCargo all declined slightly. (cd)
