Coalition on West African routes
Bremen Overseas Chartering and Shipping (Bocs) and Universal Africa Lines (UAL) are to combine their forces on the West African trades. The Bremen entity, a breakbulk MPV shipping line, operates five geared MPV vessels ranging from 12,800 to 28,000 dwt, with a lifting capacity up to 160 t.
UAL, a breakbulk MPV shipping line based near Rotterdam and dedicated to the oil and gas market, operates seven geared MPV vessels ranging from 4,500 to 12,800 dwt vessels with a lifting capacity up to 360 t.
Both companies will align their liner services and vessels from Europe to West Africa in order to create better services and generate synergetic effects.
This new alliance will start with slot charter agreements. Each line will maintain its own identity and agency network. (kd)
