CO2 transport by rail reduces greenhouse gas emissions
The Swedish carrier Green Cargo regularly transports carbon dioxide for gas manufacturer AGA from Sweden to Norway. The carbon dioxide is used in greenhouses, the food industry, breweries and for cleaning water conduits.
AGA Gas delivers carbon dioxide by rail to customers for collection at the Rolvsoy terminal in Norway. The wagons are specially designed for this type of transportation. Several wagons leave each week from Swedish Norrköping to Rolvsoy, outside Sarpsborg. The transport of CO2 by rail decreases the carbon dioxide emissions by 150,000 kg annually. (ben)
