For 2019, Canadian National Railways (CN) is planning large investments into maintaining and strengthening its rail infrastructure in three provinces.

The carrier will spend CAD 245 million (EUR 151 million) on expanding Saskatchewan’s railways, involving some 56 km of new double tracks. In British Columbia, CN will set up a new train passing siding in Port Edward to increase capacity at the port of Vancouver as well as 4 km of a new double track west of Prince George, an investment of CAD 345 million (EUR 227 million).

Finally, in Alberta, the railway will put CAD 370 million (EUR 243 million) into building 40 km of double tracks and laying down new tracks at Scotford Yard. (ben)
