CMA CGM enlarges digital portfolio
The French shipping company CMA CGM is continuing to further digitalise its offers and has just introduced the CMA CGM e-solutions tool. It is a fully digital e-commerce system that supports a range of e-commerce channels such as electronic data interchange (EDI) and application programming interfaces (API).
E-commerce solutions are already used to make most of the CMA CGM Group’s bookings, and half of them are handled via the website.
Some of the new e-commerce features include: e-pricing (i.e. customers have real-time access to the carrier’s rates and can obtain an instant spot quotation), e-booking, e-bill of lading (i.e. fully digital bills of lading) and e-tracking (i.e. the cargo’s location at sea can be visualised with the help of a map graphic with an updated arrival time) and e-payment.
