Clever combinations are green and efficient
Cosmetics manufacturer L'Oréal has been relying on DB Cargo Full Load Service (FLS) to ensure eco-friendly shipments of its products for over four years and has now extended this partnership for another three years.
Weekly transports with alternative powered HVO trucks bring creams, shampoos and shower gels from the German distribution centre in Muggensturm to Mannheim. From there, the goods are moved by rail directly to the Migros retailer in Switzerland, which has its own rail siding.
This solution cuts CO2 emissions by around 90%. It is not only sustainable but also efficient, since also reduces the number of empty runs and ramp operations, the rail carrier said. (ben)
