Chipolbrok's rising sun on its way
It was a long journey to the final port of destination in Antwerp. When loading operations on board "Chipolbrok Sun" had been completed at Qingdao and Taicang, the vessel proceeded to Qinhuangdao, its last loading port in China.
The vessel sailed fully laden in August carrying industrial components and project cargo mainly destined for ports in the Mediterranean Sea, e.g. in Morocco, France and Spain. Final discharging port was Antwerp, where the ship called at two different terminals.
The purpose was to supply about 2.000 t of steel products, one heavy lift of 82 t and various full boxes but also new tank containers. Shifting within the port, the vessel landed about 6.000 t of baked carbon anodes to be used for aluminium production but also chemical processes.
With a full load of non-ferrous metals as sole cargo, the ship quickly returned to China for its next journey, either again to Europe or to America. (sh)
