Chinese port connected to train
The container terminal in the Chuanshan port area of Zhoushan Port in Ningbo, East China, recently saw its first rail-sea intermodal train arrive. 100 standard containers fully loaded with solar PV modules were short-barged by trailers from the train to the cargo ship heading abroad on the same day.
The rail-sea intermodal train from Yiwu to Chuanshan port area is the first regular train to be processed since the independent customs operation of the Chuanshan port station was introduced in April 2021, Chinese Railways said.
The rail-sea intermodal trains provide a fast transport corridor (as quickly as six hours) between Yiwu and the container terminal in Zhoushan Port and offer a "seamless connection" to the Maritime Silk Road. (ben)
