Chinese coal hopper wagons for Australia
Aurizon, Australia’s largest railfreight operator, has ordered 264 narrow gauge coal hopper wagons from the Chinese manufacturer CRRC Yangtze. The first batch of 132 wagons will be delivered in Queensland by the end of 2019. The second batch of 132 wagons is due for delivery in 2020.
Aurizon will use the hopper cars on its Central Queensland coal network. CRRC has already sent covered passenger cars, metro trains, locomotives and wagons and more to Australia, and has established long-term and close cooperative relationships with EDI, FMG, RoyHill, MRL, SCT, Rio Tinto, BHP, Adani, Aurizon, GWA, PN and others.
