China rail service now direct to UK regions
As bookings on its weekly fixed-day rail option from China to the UK are continuing to increase, the English forwarder Davies Turner is adding direct services from China to destinations in the UK. The weekly service leaves the Hefei rail hub (China) for Neuss (Germany), from where containers are then trucked under bond to the port of Rotterdam and transported by ferry to Purfleet-on-Thames, just east of London in the county of Essex.
In future, on-carriage from Purfleet will be carried out by truck directly to Davies Turner’s distribution centres for the UK, in Birmingham, Bristol, Dartford and Manchester. The contents of the boxes will be unloaded there and cleared through customs before being delivered. (ben)
