China and UAE to cooperate on port development
On 20 September, the Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Cosco Shipping Ports (Abu Dhabi), and Hainan Harbour & Shipping Holding signed an MOU to deepen cooperation between the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) and other global free trade zones and ports.
The agreement is part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of diplomatic relations between China and the UAE and marks another step in China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
The partnership will focus on port construction, shipping services, and green energy, expanding the connectivity between Yangpu and Abu Dhabi ports. (pb)
