Changes at WSC

The board of directors of the World Shipping Council (WSC) has elected Soren Toft (on the left), CEO of the Mediterranean Shipping Company MSC, as the chair of WSC’s board. Randy Chen (on the right), deputy chairman of Wan Hai Lines, was elected vice-chair.

Toft and Chen will each serve a two-year term. They succeed Rolf Habben Jansen, CEO of Hapag-Lloyd, and Jeremy Nixon, CEO of ONE, respectively, who served as co-chairs of WSC’s board for two terms from 2020.

Toft, who oversees MSC’s global cargo businesses, has been CEO of MSC since 2020. Chen is in charge of business development at Wan Hai Lines. (cj)
