Change in Iata's leadership
The International Air Transport Association (Iata) has announced that its director general and CEO Alexandre de Juniac (right, together with Glyn Hughes, who will leave its position as Iata’s global head of cargo in January 2021), will step down from his role at the association effective 31 March 2021.
De Juniac handed in his resignation several months ago, which enabled a search process to facilitate a smooth leadership transition.
Recommended by the Iata board of governors, the 76th Iata annual general meeting yesterday (24.11.2020) appointed Willie Walsh, former CEO of International Airlines Group to become Iata’s eighth director general from 1 April 2021.
De Juniac joined Iata in September 2016 from Air France-KLM, where he was chairman and CEO. (amh)
