Ceva opens new route from China
The new international road transport (TIR) routes run along the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan and China-Pakistan corridors.
The first six trucks recently departed from Kashgar, China, crossed the border into Kyrgyzstan and arrived in Samarkand, Uzbekistan after a 1,100 journey. The convoy transported industrial components, auto parts and consumer goods.
Ceva is now planning regular TIR operations on this new route with around 100 trucks every month. The logistics company is also evaluating more direct routes by using the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway which is under construction and will open by 2025. The over 500 km long line will provide the shortest freight route from China to the Middle East and Europe. (ben)
