Ceva opens Ikea's new CDC in New York
Ceva Logistics and Ikea recently celebrated the opening of a new customer distribution centre (CDC) at Staten Island on the US east coast. Under a five year deal, Ceva will manage the 90'600 sqm site and provide warehouse management and fulfilment services. The facility is already fully operational and open seven days a week.
Built on a previously vacant 81 ha piece of land on the west shore of Staten Island, the new CDC will focus on home deliveries for customers who order products online or purchase larger items at an Ikea store or planning studio.
Tanja Dysli, Ikea USA's customer fulfilment manager, said: "We are proud to partner with Ceva to operate our new CDC, which has created 200 new jobs. The new facility will help meet the delivery needs of our New York-area customers.” (mw)
