Ceva open for business in Uzbekistan
To extend its range in Central Asia, Ceva Logistics – having already opened an office in Almaty (Kazakhstan) in 2020 – has now also established a new office in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Landlocked Uzbekistan offers some potential for multimodal overland transport options by rail and truck, as well as air solutions. Country manager Behzod Yunusaliyev will head the team there.
Exports are key for Ceva's activities, which include transport services for a number of industries and commodities, such as mineral fertilisers, cotton and cotton yarn, fabrics, vegetables and dry fruit.
Uzbekistan joined the Commonwealth of Independent States Free Trade Area (CISFTA) in 2014, and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) as an observer in 2020. Bruno Plantaz, Ceva Logistics’ Imea managing director, commented that “we’re continuing to accelerate our growth, and key markets in Africa or Central Asia offer significant opportunities to this end.” (sh)
