Ceva Logistics to operate ro-ro vessels
Marseille-based Ceva Logistics has signed a long-term lease with its parent company, the shipping company CMA CGM, to connect its global automotive customers with more roll-on, roll-off (ro-ro) vessel capacity.
The four ships are currently under construction by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Weihai), and each of them will have the capacity to transport 7,000 cars.
The ten-year lease allows Ceva Logistics to transport approximately 140,000 vehicles annually between global markets, especially China and Europe, with these LNG dual-fuel hybrid deep-sea vessels ordered by Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping.
For Emmanuel Cheremetinski, global FVL leader, Ceva Logistics, “the decision to operate four deep-sea ro-ro vessels is a clear example of our promise to provide responsive logistics.” (lh)
