Celebrating 20 years of cargo flights
Qatar Airways Cargo took off with its first freighter at the end of September 2003. Assembled twelve years before, the A300-600, which was a converted passenger aircraft previously operated by Korean Air, first flew to Amsterdam and Chennai, and shortly thereafter, to New Delhi. It was withdrawn from use in March 2013.
Today, the Doha-based cargo airline operates to more than 160 belly-hold and over 70 freighter destinations with over 200 passenger aircraft and 31 dedicated cargo freighters.
Elisabeth Oudkerk, SVP, cargo sales and network planning: "As we celebrate 20 years of freighter operations, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our customers for their continuous trust in our services."
To celebrate 20 years of freighter operations, Qatar Airways Cargo has launched a timeline of its history which can be viewed on its website. (ah)
