CD Cargo founds rail carrier in Hungary
The Czech railfreight operator has created its own company in Hungary through its subsidiary CD Slovakia. CD Cargo Hungary became a fully-fledged carrier on the Hungarian railway network on 1 October 2020. Transport services under its own licence are to begin in the coming weeks, CD Cargo said.
The new company operates hungarised "laminate" locomotives of series 230 and 240 as well as series 742 locomotives for service on non-electrified lines. The Hungarian carrier will commercially and operationally connect the transports that it already provides under its own licence in Slovakia.
CD Cargo was founded on 2007. In addition to its companies in Slovakia and Hungary, subsidiaries in Germany and Poland also belong to the railfreight group. (ben)
