Cargo’s contribution to record performance
For the financial year ended 31 March 2024, Dubai-based Emirates Group reports its best-ever financial performance with a record profit of AED 18.7 billion (USD 5.1 billion), up 71% from last year, record revenue, and a record level of cash assets.
Despite continued challenges in global logistics, Emirates Skycargo generated a "solid" revenue of USD 3.7 billion - 11% of the airline’s total revenue. Yield per FTK declined by 32%, returning to pre-pandemic marketplace levels.
The cargo division carried 2.2 million t of goods (+18%), as increased passenger ops expanded available cargo capacity, and the leasing of three B747 freighters during the year unlocked immediate capacity to serve demand on busy routes. The total freighter fleet stands at eleven B777Fs. Five additional B777Fs on order should arrive from mid-2024. (ah)
