Cargolux opposed to new wildlife trafficking trend

As one of the first major carriers, Cargolux has placed a ban on the transport of lion bones in an effort to curb and deter this new trend in wildlife trafficking which has been growing over the past decade.

Michele Pickover, director of the EMS Foundation, underlined the proactivity and transparency of this decision: "Many airlines may be unaware of the trade itself or its implications for both African lions and Asian tigers. I believe that once they are informed about what this trade entails they will take the correct and logical decision not to support it."

The growing list of items that Cargolux refuses to carry, on any of its network routes, for ethical reasons, are implemented in line with a company philosophy strongly geared towards CSR and sustainability for all stakeholders. (ah)
