Cargolux opens routes to Mexico and for whales
Exactly one month ago, on 10 December 2018, Cargolux introduced a new transpacific service between Hong Kong (HGK) and Mexico City. The twice weekly service, which is the seventh between HGK and destinations in North America after Chicago, Columbus-Rickenbacker, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami and New York, includes a stopover in Guadalajara.
In another project, the Luxembourg-based carrier will soon help transport two Beluga whales along with a care team to the world's first open water sanctuary for that species. In spring, the two cetaceans, "Little Grey" and "Little White", held until now in an aquarium in Shanghai, will be moved in a complex journey via land, air and eventually by sea to the large sanctuary in a natural bay of one of the Westman Islands, located off the southern coast of Iceland.
