Cargolux interested in Triple Seven
Richard Forson, president and CEO of Cargolux Airlines, who was invited to speak at an Aviation Club of the UK (virtual) lunch earlier this month, held not only the longest ever (50 minutes) speech to the club, but also "one of the best", as we learned from London.
2020 marks the 50th anniversary of Cargolux. Forson joined in 2012 and now has close to 30 years’ experience in the industry. He told viewers that it was boom time for the airline and its 30 B747F, after a dreadful first two months of the year.
This is why Cargolux is examining the B777-300ER freighter conversion programme as a candidate to meet future fleet requirements, anticipating the production end of the B747 in 2022. Forson: "I don’t ever see another four-engined freighter being developed by any manufacturer." (ah)
