Cargolux and Sonoco Thermosafe ink cool partnership
Determined to offer its customers the best possible service and the latest transport solution technologies, particularly for sensitive and time-critical shipments such as pharmaceuticals, Cargolux has signed a partnership agreement with Sonoco Thermosafe, a leading global provider of temperature assurance packaging.
According to the pact, the Luxembourg-based carrier will lease "PharmaPort 360" temperature-controlled bulk shipping containers. The boxes are smart active containers, distinguished as the only active temperature-controlled containers in the industry that include a fully integrated telemetry system which has been approved by the US Federal Aviation Authority.
The units enable the provision of real-time, cloud-based data on payload and ambient temperature and key mechanical components, synchronised with GPS location. (ah)
