Cargologic Germany finally cleared for take off
Cargologic Germany (CLG), an express carrier based at Leipzig/Halle airport and spin-off of the Volga-Dnepr Group, has been ready for take-off since spring this year. The German federal ministry for transport has now given airline the authorisation to start regular services, subject to certain conditions, the state chancellery in Dresden (Saxony) announced at the end of last week.
"This further strengthens Leipzig’s position as an air freight hub," Saxony’s premier Michael Kretschmer said shortly before the state elections.
CLG intends to start operations with two B737F aircraft and a crew of initially 35 direct employees. The company says that it plans to expand the fleet to ten aircraft of the same type and increase its staff to about 80 people over the next few years. (ah)
