'Cargo toolbox' app to serve whole sector
KLM Cargo’s ’compliance knowledge centre’ (CKC) has developed a ‘cargo toolbox’ app, which can be used for co-loading segregation checks based on Iata norms (for example for DG). Air France KLM Martinair Cargo will be the first operator to start using it. It is based on the ‘app-within-an-app’ approach and will also be made available to all other players in the business free of charge.
The CKC previously launched the ‘Mr Beam’ app for pallet builders. The new app now also includes the co-loading instructions app, which makes use of machine learning to ensure that it becomes increasingly adept at recognising symbols.
Kester Meijer, director of operational integrity, compliance and safety with Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, said that "we hope to improve safety throughout the cargo chain. This can only be achieved together with the entire cargo community." (ah)
