Cargo flights soldier on
Under voluntary administration for three weeks now, Air Mauritius has resumed commercial cargo operations to and from some designated destinations.
After two first flights to Paris last week, Mauritius' national carrier is considering twice-weekly commercial cargo flights on this route, on Tuesdays and Fridays, starting today, 12 May 2020, and reports that cargo services will be adapted as demand evolves.
Under similar conditions, South African Airways (SAA) reassures its customers and stakeholders that it will continue its cargo flights. Between 3 April and 8 May, SAA transported more than 870 t of freight, both export and import consignments, including essential humanitarian cargo. "As long as such requests are received, SAA will endeavour to fulfil them," the company stresses. (ah)
