Canadian railway wins transport order
Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) has been contracted by A.P. Moller - Maersk to move freight through the Canadian ports of Vancouver and Montreal. The agreement follows upon an announcement made earlier regarding the construction of a new, world-class transload and distribution facility in Vancouver.
The strategic relationship is expected to result in CP moving Maersk traffic on 1 March 2021 and applies to both dry and refrigerated cargo.
In combination with the plans to build a new facility, the rail agreement shows that CP and Maersk are committed to sustainability across the supply chain, while providing effective and efficient intermodal solutions for customers, the Canadian rail company said. (ben)
