Canada investing in Trois-Rivières projects
The Canadian government is providing CAD 87.1 million for a project to renew terminals 16 and 17 in the port of Trois-Rivières.
The funds come from a national trade corridors fund and are part of a total investment of CAD 312 million. The project includes the refurbishment of pier 17, the construction of a new pier 16 and the development of adjacent terminals. It aims to support the activities of Alcoa and G3 Canada.
In addition, improvements to the hub’s road and rail infrastructure are planned. The construction work is being carried out by Pomerleau and is scheduled for completion by December 2026.
Alcoa and G3 Canada are investing in new loading and unloading facilities. Additional storage space will also be created. The new quays will provide the necessary infrastructure for the future installation of shore power connections for vessels. (js)
