Cambodia gets connected to USA
The US-American NVOCC UWL service links Cambodia, Vietnam and USA. In partnership with Swire Shipping, the company has now added a dedicated barge service from Phnom Pehn, Cambodia, to its express ocean transportation service between Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and Seattle. This service allows shippers in Cambodia to reach the US West Coast in a transit time of 25 days.
As the first part of the journey, the container tug and barge service takes 18-24 hours. Having arrived in Vietnam, containers are loaded onto the 18-day, bi-weekly Sun Chief service from Ho Chi Minh to Seattle.
Advantages associated with the express Ho Chi Minh – Seattle service include priority berthing at both origin and destination and a dedicated equipment pool for suppliers in Ho Chi Minh City. (sh)
