Call for systematic biogas stations along TEN-T
Clecat has called on the European parliament’s Tran committee to increase the required power output for recharging stations dedicated to electric heavy-duty vehicles. According to the association, it’s essential that bio-CNG and bio-LNG can be used at least as bridging technologies until zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles are commercially available at scale for long-distance transport.
Therefore, EU member states should ensure that bio-LNG and bio-CNG refuelling stations for HGVs should be deployed along TEN-T’s core network, with a maximum distance of 400 km between them. Clecat has also suggested that EU railways either be electrified or run by zero-emissions locomotives only by the end of 2029. (ben)
